Restylane

Restylane Filler at La Fontaine in Denver!

Restylane® is the most popular filler. Restylane is a clear gel of hyaluronic acid, that when injected into the skin adds volume and support to the skin. This can decrease facial lines such as the nasolabial folds (from the nose to the outside corner of the mouth) and marionette lines (from the corner of the mouth downwards). It is also used to restore fullness to thin lips, but is most well know to restore volume under the eyes to take away the dark circles. Now Restylane contains a numbing medicine, which helps the treatment have less discomfort.

Is this a good Dermal Filler for Dark Under-Eye Circles/Hollows?

Unfortunately dark circles are caused by several factors. First, the skin is very thin under the eyes and blood capillaries are easily seen through the skin. The second factor is volume loss and the sagging of the face. This creates a semi-circular ridge that catches the light and appears as a shadow, thus worsening the dark circle appearance or the hollowed under eye appearance.

Dr. Oleszek uses Restylane as a gold standard to fill in the hollow under the eye, which is why it is often referred to as a “home run” treatment, with dramatic and instant improvement to that sunken appearance. This treatment has been featured on Oprah and has been one of Dr. Oleszek’s most popular “wow” treatments. Retinoid creams (Retin-A) and creams with skin growth factors are used to thicken the skin, thus diminishing the capillaries seen through the skin.

Can Restylane be used with other injectable fillers?

Yes. As we age, we lose subcutaneous tissue volume. The cheeks are less prominent and the jowl and cheek lines become more noticeable. Restylane® and other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are used to plump individual lines such as the nasolabial lines (the lines between the nose and the corner of the mouth) and the marionette lines (from the corner of the mouth downwards).

Lip Enhancement

Lip augmentation with dermal fillers is one of the most popular treatments at La Fontaine Aesthetics. Aging decreases the soft tissue of the lip, resulting in thin, less defined lips. Our goal at La Fontaine is to create a natural, sultry appearance to the lips.

Dr. Oleszek uses Restylane® or Juvederm® to increase fullness to the the body of the lip. Enhancing the columns from the middle upper lip to the nose – creates a ‘cupids bow’ adding a sultry appearance. Restylane or Juvederm is also used to support the sides of the mouth, softening the marrionette lines (lines from the corner of the mouth downwards) and taking away the down-turned appearance at the corners of the mouth.

Is Lip Enhancement Right for You?

Upper Lip Wrinkles

Also called lipstick bleeders or smoker’s lines, these lines are often treated with several techniques. Botox is used to relax the muscle, thus diminishing the dynamic wrinkles, the lines that come and go with the puckering of your lip. This will help take away the lines, but it is mostly preventative. Once the lines become static (lines are present without puckering), Restylane, Radiesse or Sculptra® are used to stretch the lip and the skin above the lip, thus smoothing the wrinkles away.

Static Wrinkles

Static wrinkles are lines that are not affected by facial expressions. As these lines deepen, they are then called ‘folds.’ Common areas are the nasolabial fold (from the nose to the corner of the mouth) and the marrionette lines (the lines on the outside of the mouth downwards). Restylane, Radiesse and Sculptra are used most commonly to treat these lines.
