At La Fontaine we strive to offer the latest medical aesthetic products and treatments for men and women. In spring 2012, we added Omnilux to our list of services. It’s a rosacea, wrinkle or acne treatment that is simple and has no risk or downtime for patients. Omnilux can be used in all skin colors and skin types as a primary or adjunctive treatment.

What does Omnilux treat?

Omnilux is a medical device that utilizes light emitting diode (LED) technology to treat and improve acne, rosacea and crows feet.

How does it work?

Rosacea is improved by the Omnilux red light therapy by decreasing the inflammation and the associated redness.  We often use the IPL or photofacial and the Omnilux red light therapy to decrease rosacea by ‘a couple of notches’  without any medicines.

Omnilux blue light therapy kills the bacteria associated with acne. Studies have shown a 30% decrease in acne blemishes after blue light therapy twice a week for 4 weeks.  One of the highlights of blue light therapy is that there is virtually no side-effects and  we often use blue light therapy in conjunction with other procedures to optimize acne treatment.

With Omnilux infrared light therapy studies have shown over 80% of subjects reported a softening of fine lines, and 75% reported improvement in skin softness and smoothness.

The initial effects you will see are a clearer, brighter and smoother complexion. After the course of treatments you will begin to notice an improvement in tone, clarity and texture.
