Age Spots | Sun Spots

Sun spots, also called age spots, liver spots or solar lentigenes, are flat brown spots that are one of the biggest give aways to someone’s age. As suggested by their name, they are caused by sun exposure and occur on sun damaged skin – usually the face, chest, hands, forearms and legs.

These spots can be treated with retinoid creams (Retin-A), microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and photofacials, all with varying success.

The most significant improvement is seen with the pulsed light treatment – the Photofacial – which after 3 to 5 treatments lightens or removes the spots altogether.

The face, chest and hands are the most popular areas to be treated.
