Coming soon to La Fontaine in Denver! We are the first Medical Practice to have it in Colorado! Restylane Refyne is a hyaluronic acid filler from the Restylane family of products. FDA-approved in December 2016 and released in 2017, it is FDA-approved for the correction of wrinkles in the face such as cheek lines, smile lines (also called nasolabial folds).

How is Restylane Refyne different from the other hyaluronic acid fillers?

What makes it different is the product is a smooth gel that provides good improvement of mild to moderate facial wrinkles. It is similar to Restylane Defyne, but is a softer product used for filling more shallow facial wrinkles than Defyne. Because of how the hyaluronic acid strands within Restylane Refyne are bonded together, the gel is smooth and integrates well into the areas of injection. Also due it the fillers structure, Restylane Refyne may provide a longer duration and allow less swelling than some previous fillers used for wrinkle reduction.

Does Restylane Refyne look natural?

Yes. Restylane Refyne integrates into the area treated extremely well, which allows a very natural result when in expert hands. Dr Ken Oleszek customizes filler placement and selection to each individual patients needs and will keep you looking your best, most natural looking self.

What are the possible side effects of Restylane Refyne?

The side effects are similar to any other FDA-approved injectable hyaluronic acid filler product. Most common and mile side effects following your treatment include the injection itself which will cause a mild poke at injection site, mild swelling at the site of placement, or a bruise.

Is there downtime?

There is typically mild to minimal swelling following your treatment. While indivdual results may vary, most patients experience minimal to mild swelling for one day or two. Most patients resume their daily social activities same day.

As with any injectable dermal filler, patients should avoid supplements, vitamins or medications such as Tylenol that thin the blood, for one week prior to treatment.

Can it be combined with other fillers?

Yes. In fact, most dermal fillers are specifically favorable for certain corrections, and most often a combination of different fillers and skin tightening procedures, or light and laser based treatments are used to create a more enhanced outcome. Restylane Refyne may be used with other fillers to balance the face and restore lost volume, often referred to as the liquid facelift. Dermal fillers such as Restylane Refyne are well paired with wrinkle relaxers Dysport or Botox, in order to relax overactive facial muscles and smooth wrinkles related to exuberant facial expression. While Refyne restores balance to the face, light and laser technologies such as BBL, Dornier and HALO may be employed to eliminate unwanted brown spots, broken blood vessels, enlarged pores or uneven skin texture and wrinkles. Last but certainly not least Skin tightening treatments such as INTRAcel, Thermitight and SkinTyte are excellent enhancements with products such as Restlane Refyne.
